Based in the Historic Cathedral City of Durham, Silkwood was formed in 2001 by David Crampton on his return from working Overseas and in London.
Today the Company is regarded as a supplier of good quality carpeting and flooring for high end residential projects.

David Crampton
David began his career over thirty five years ago with local carpet manufacturer and Royal Warrant holder, Hugh Mackay Carpets. David also worked on projects such as Cunard's Luxury Cruise Liner QE2 and the Palace of Westminster Library in London. He gained further experience in the textile industry working in Sydney, Australia and London before moving back to his native north east to form Silkwood.

Robert Smith
Robert started his career with Royal Warrant Holders Hugh Mackay Carpets almost forty years ago. He worked with clients based in North America and Canada for many years before progressing to contracts management for Northern England and Scotland. Robert joined Silkwood in 2004.
